15000 Students in Nashik Performing Surya Namaskar Sets a New World Record!

15000 students set a World Record in Nashik for Surya Namaskar

‘Surya Namaskar – Ek Avishkar,’ an event with 15000 students of various institutes run by Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal (NSPM) created a world record by achieving the target of completing 1,45,95,786 Surya Namaskaras over the last one year. Representatives of the World Amazing Records and Wonder Book of Records registered the record according to a state government release.

NSPM is running various schools and colleges in Nashik district. According to NSPM, the students started doing Surya Namaskars on 3rd February of 2017, and completed their last performance on January 24, 2018, at the divisional complex in Panchvati, Nashik. Water Resources Minister of Maharashtra, Girish Mahajan attended the event and congratulated all the students.

“Every youth should take Surya Namaskar into his/her beginning of daily chores. Good health and overall development are what, doing Surya Namaskar daily can benefit. Foreigners have understood the importance of Surya Namaskar, it’s time for every Indian to know it,” the minister said to all the students. He also then took interest in completing some rounds of Sun Salutations.
