The rundown of Indian movies to be screened at the “Indian Panorama” segment of the 48th International Film Festival of India, to be held from November 20-28 in Goa, has been declared by the organisers. In the class of full length films, a sum of 26 films have been chosen for screening including five from the Indian mainstream cinema.

According to an announcement from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, ‘Pihu’ directed by Vinod Kapri will be the opening film in Indian Panorama Section of feature films.
The 2016 National Award winning ‘Kaasav’, directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar, is included in Indian Panorama 2017 by virtue of direct entry according to the India Panorama 2017 Regulations.
Most number of movies are from Marathi (nine), followed by Hindi (six), including the broadly acclaimed ‘Newton’ which is likewise the official entry from India for the Oscars.
