All for a noble cause… the feeling to serve the underprivileged and to spread the message of humanity and healthy living among the Nashikites, around twenty thousand participants gathered in the early hours of Saturday, 13th January 2017. The city witnessed flag off of the 15th Nashik Run from Mahatma Nagar Ground. Painting the city Green, Nashikites participated in the Nashik Run to register their solidarity towards a common social cause.

The Nashik Run event, jointly organised by Bosch and Epcos has come a long way since its inception in 2003. From the funds raised from Nashik Run 2014 event, the Nashik Run Trust executed around twenty-five projects in Nashik district to support in the areas of health, water conservation education, promoting sports activities, irrigation, infrastructure for the needy, medical aid, environment related projects and upliftment of tribals from remote villages.

The support to the Social Organisations is continuous. With the efforts of the fund raising team of Bosch and Epcos, the funds raised for the year 2015 tuned up to Rs. 75 lakhs. Not only the Sponsors, but every individual who participated in the Run by registering for the T-shirt, contributed towards rendering help to various social projects through the Nashik Run Charitable Trust.

Taking the oath of clean and green Nashik, the event started with unfurling of the National Flag, one of the beneficiaries of Nashik Run Trust. The torch bearer of Nashik Run 2015 was none other than Ms. Kavita Raut the International Marathoner from Nashik along with other athletes from Nashik who have made Nashik proud by winning various accolades at National level. The enthusiasm of all the participants was heightened as the flame was lit and Nashik Run 2015 was declared open.

Warming up on the Zumba dance, people from all walks of life participated in the Run. The differently abled citizens marked their participation in the Run with great enthusiasm. The smiles on the faces of the participants on completion of the Run establishes the fact …. Running a few miles indeed brings smiles on the faces of many ……

With volunteers positioned on the ground and on the run route for the assistance of the Runners, the perfect management by the Operations Team ensured a Run without any injuries or mishaps. Apart from the main event of the 4.5 km run, the people also enjoyed the Lucky draw event organized by few of the sponsors wherein lucky participants won prizes.

The administrative expenses of the Nashik Run are borne by the Run organizing companies – Bosch and Epcos, whereas the funds raised from the sponsorships and registration of T-shirts are directed towards various deserving projects.

The success of the Nashik Run lies in the support extended by the sponsoring companies, the Government officials, the Police personnel, the participants, the various service providers and the dedication of the Volunteers.

Now starts the job of the Project Team, to assess the requirements of various NGOs and social organizations in Nashik and to select deserving projects and try to bring smiles on the faces of many…..

We now look forward for the next Nashik Run – Nashik Run 2018, yet another Run filled with colour, feeling of oneness, concern and responsibility towards the society we are living in.
