Nashik’s most privileged Malayalee Association, NMCA in order to encourage youth empowerment officially inaugurated their sister concern- Youth Wing on 21st January 2017. Well, NMCA Youth Wing successfully pulled off a perfect anniversary celebration captivating it to a grander success altogether with a cultural and entertainment programme held today evening at Mauli Lawns. NMCA (Nasik Malayalee Cultural Association) is a trust which has always been actively involved in promoting the arts, culture, sports, social works and developments in Nashik.
The anniversary event commenced with a national anthem followed by dance performances. Among all the best dances were a tribute to famous actress Sridevi performed by Youth Wing members. It made the audience take pleasure in remembering the good old films and songs of Sridevi. A documentary featurette of Youth Wing’s One Year Journey was screened to the public. The A-Class audiovisuals and exceptional presentation graphics powered by Red Wolf Entertainment and Nick’s Angels throughout the event were distinguished and first of its kind in Nashik. With the help of Anup Pushpangathan, Youth Wing Secretary, it became possible for NMCA Youth Wing to be the first proud association in Nashik to successfully work out this remarkable level of technological advancement for an event. We will get to see them adopting innovative ideas like YouTube live streaming technologies and more for their events in near future.
NMCA President Shri. Gokulam Gopalakrishna Pillai and NORKA Chief Executive Officer, Thiruvananthapuram, Shri. K. Harikrishnan Namboothiri, IAS with Shri. Unni George (NMCA NORKA Coordinator) made the event more significant to the Malayalees with the subjects pertaining to Pravasi Malayalees and NORKA. Shri. Shanavas Khan, undersecretary to Government and NORKA Development Officer, Mumbai delivered the speech about benefits of NORKA to the public. On behalf of NMCA and NORKA authorities present at the event, NORKA identity card was inaugurated.
Shri. Balakrishnan (Vice President, Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter) and Shri. Ramachandran Manchrabat (Secretary, Malayalam Mission Mumbai Chapter) made the Malayalee audience aware of Malayalam Mission and its activities and procedures. Teaching Malayalees their mother tongue and promote its use is what the Malayalam Mission aims at. Malayalam Mission classes are said to come into being in Nashik very soon.
On the occasion, NMCA honoured the Winner of 12 National Awards, 1 International Award and a Presidential Youth Award, Dr Vijitha V. Nair with NMCA Special Achievement Award. Dr Vijitha V Nair, belonging to Dhule, has been an inspiration for many youths across India and did also succeed in motivating the audience present at the event. Mrs Indira Unnikrishna Menon was honoured by NMCA for her best social awareness National Award given by Piggy Bank International Short Film Festival for her short film ‘Swatch Bharat’.
Anniversary Cake cutting was done by NMCA and Youthwing members on stage. After a perfect celebration, the anniversary event concluded with a tasty dinner.
