We are experiencing a shortage of oxygen supplies in the state as a result of the growing number of high-risk patients in hospitals. To support the cause, Mahindra Logistics has launched their Oxygen on Wheels initiative in the state, and the service has also reached Nashik through collaboration with IMA Nashik.
The company is providing logistical assistance for hospitals in transporting oxygen cylinders for refilling under the initiative. The service is provided at no cost. In Nashik, the company donated ten pick-up vans to support over 130 private Covid hospitals.
The coordinators’ contact information is shared with private hospitals, and they can request the pickup/delivery of oxygen cylinders, which are then transported by Mahindra Logistics vehicles.
The initiative is a perfect idea for private businesses to contribute their small part to reducing the current burden on the health-care system. This will allow hospitals to stock up on oxygen supplies more effectively. This initiative has piqued the interest of Nashik hospitals. IMA Nashik is doing all it can to support hospitals and has appointed 10 doctors to work with hospitals in the area.
According to Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, the company is attempting to bridge the gap between oxygen production and supply because he believes that consistent oxygen supply will minimize the mortality rate. Precious lives can be saved. The company is also considering the idea of carrying oxygen cylinders directly to the homes of patients in need.
The second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic has struck the country hard, and the entire socioeconomic life has been disrupted. Many people have died as a result of the catastrophe. It is a major problem, and people should now take care of themselves and their family members by strictly adhering to the government-issued Covid protocols. Companies such as Mahindra and Mahindra are stepping forward to aid in the fight, and it would be beneficial if we are more cautious than ever.
